Stirrup bars
Price range: €63.00 to €74.48 Excluding VAT
L’Arçonnerie Française stirrup bars ensure that stirrup leathers are securely attached to the saddle tree while allowing the rider to quickly release the stirrup in the event of a fall. Integrated into the design from the outset, they are positioned so as not to disrupt the geometry or balance of the saddle tree, thus ensuring rider safety, saddle stability, and mechanical consistency of the whole.

Reliability, accuracy, and safety
L’Arçonnerie Française stirrup banrs are designed to ensure that stirrup leathers are securely fastened to the saddle tree. These mechanical parts are essential for rider safety, providing a reliable attachment point while respecting the geometry of the saddle tree. This comprehensive range meets the needs of professional saddlers who want to work with high-end equipment.
A copper-aluminum alloy particularly suited to saddlery
The stirrup bars are made of treated cupro-aluminum, an alloy known for its excellent balance between lightness, mechanical strength, and controlled behavior under stress. Unlike rigid materials, cupro-aluminum has the abilityto absorb stress, enabling it to withstand high loads and repeated impacts without sudden breakage. This controlled flexibility is an essential feature for parts directly involved in rider safety.
Each stirrup bar is molded, polished, and individually inspected to ensure consistent performance and seamless integration with all of our saddle trees. This level of craftsmanship guarantees perfectly controlled stirrup leather attachment, contributing to the overall safety of the saddle and the mechanical consistency of the equipment.
Four models adapted to different saddle tree configurations
Each model is designed for a specific use.
Available sizes
| Model | Length (mm) | Type | Primary use |
| PE19 | 95 | Standard stirrup bars | Mainly ridden on the Jumping and Pony saddles trees. |
| PE20 | 140 | Standard set-back stirrup bars | Allows the stirrup to be positioned further back to optimize the rider's posture. Primarily mounted on Dressage and Trekking saddles. |
| PE22 | 60 | Safety stirrup bars | A secure design, ideal for saddles that require a stirrup bar plate. Primarily mounted on Dressage, Trekking, Iberian, McClellan, Portuguese, and Side-Saddle trees. |
| PE30 | 140 | Safety set-back stirrup bars | Allows for a more rearward position and keeps the stirrup in place. Primarily mounted on Dressage and Trekking saddle trees. |
Secure models with dog clips and closed blades are designed to keep the stirrup leash in a fixed position. They prioritize stability and permanent hold of the stirrup rather than quick release.
From design to validation testing
Our stirrup bars have been designed to integrate perfectly with the saddle trees manufactured in our workshops. This compatibility guarantees precise positioning, accurate geometry, and perfect stability over time. Their design allows them to withstand the dynamic stresses of the rider, optimize the balance of the saddle, andimprove safety in all circumstances.
Our cupro-aluminum stirrup bars undergo material, resistance, and fatigue testing on samples. They are then mounted on our saddles and subjected to independent laboratory testing to validate their performance in real-world conditions and ensure a level of safety that meets the expectations of professional saddlers.
Traditional expertise and the evolution of stirrup systems
The diversity of this range is the result of several decades of experience in the artisanal manufacture of saddle trees and close collaboration with saddlers. The evolution of equestrian disciplines and safety requirements has led to the development of more robust, more precise stirrup bars that are better suited to different practices.
